Crete was built for cycling. Endless miles of flawless tarmac twisting up arid mountains offering up amazing vistas of coastlines and canyons. The island provides for every type of ride; tiny tavernas serving slow roasted rabbit with a chilled Mythos to gruelling mountain roads with lethal gradients, only the goats and eagles to keep you company.Crete should be the next place you go on a cycling holiday because it's more than just a training camp, it's a cyclist's playground. The beauty of Cretan cycling is that you get broken in the hills but fixed in the poolside bar at the villa. The only thing more savage than the mountains is the Raki, Yamas!
